How long does window tinting last?Quality window tints can last up to 10 years or more, depending on the type of film used and exposure to the elements. It's important to choose a high-quality tint to ensure maximum longevity
Can I remove the window tint myself?Yes, you can remove the tint yourself relatively easily. However, we recommend professional removal to avoid damage to your windows. Tints removed within 5 years of installation are generally easier to remove; leaving the tint on for longer can make the process more difficult
How long does the tinting process take? The tinting process typically takes anywhere from 1-3 hours for most vehicles. The duration can vary depending on the number and size of windows being tinted.
Is the tint applied in one continuous piece? In most cases, yes. Each window is usually tinted with a single piece of film to avoid seams and ensure a smooth, consistent look. There may be exceptions based on the specific window shapes and sizes, but these are rare.
Will window tinting protect my car’s interior?Absolutely. Window tinting can protect your car’s interior from UV rays, which can cause fading and damage over time. It also helps in maintaining a cooler temperature inside your car.
Can windows with minor imperfections be tinted?Yes, windows with minor imperfections like small chips or scratches can still be tinted. However, it’s important to address any significant damage before tinting, as the film may not adhere properly to damaged areas.
Do I need to inform my insurance company about window tinting? It’s advisable to inform your insurance company when making any modifications to your car, including window tinting. While it’s not typically required, failing to do so could potentially affect the outcome of a claim.
How quickly can I get my car booked in?We work on many vehicles each week and for jobs like window tinting we can usually get your car in within a couple of hours... Just bear in mind a properly installed tint is not a quick process and one should allow around a couple of hours to be without their car whilst the tinting is being installed.
What are the legal restrictions on window tinting? The legal limits for window tinting vary by location. Generally, there are specific VLT (Visible Light Transmission) percentages that must be adhered to for the front side windows and rear windows. It’s crucial to be aware of and comply with these regulations to avoid fines.
How does window tinting affect visibility at night?High-quality window tints are designed to reduce glare and improve visibility, even at night. However, opting for tints within legal light transmission limits ensures that night time visibility is not significantly affected.
Can window tinting reduce UV exposure?Yes, one of the primary benefits of window tinting is its ability to block up to 99% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, protecting passengers and preserving the interior of your vehicle.
